July, 12th 2014 - Version 1.2.6
Fleet-Up version 1.2.6 has been deployed. There are various changes in this release but I have highlighted the main ones below. For a full list please read the change log.
Operation List Improvements
The operation list has been bugging me for a while. This list was functional but less readable than I would have liked and a little bloated. Namely certain details such as the link and location tended to jump around in terms of where they rendered. Furthermore, I wanted to add in some breakers to help identify which day each operation was on.
So, I have overhauled the operations list such that it is more compact and displays the detailed information in a more fixed, tabular layout. You will see this change if you have one or more operations posted in the operations area.
Please give me any feedback on this change by getting in contact.
Timers Permission Change
I have made a change to the permissions to post a timer on Fleet-Up. Any user can log a basic "info" timer without needing the "Operations Director" right. However, if you want to turn the timer into an operation then you will still require the "Operations Director" flag. The reason for this change is to allow all members of a group to provide information about timers whilst maintaining a specific, elevated right for planning operations based on those timers.
If you have any issues with this particular change please get in contact with me and I will consider further changes in this area.
Archiving Doctrines and Fittings
It is now possible to archive or hide both fittings and doctrines. The purpose of this is to allow group and doctrine managers the ability to remove ships and doctrines that are not current from the default view but without deleting them completely. Sometimes doctrines or fittings may no longer be viable or suitable but may be useful in future - the archive feature helps deal with this.
To archive a doctrine or fitting either click the "archive" toolbar button against the item itself or click the little down-stop arrow that appears in the list next to the item. Please note that you can only archive a fitting or doctrine if you currently have permissions to delete or edit it.
Archived doctrines and fittings are hidden by default. To view them click the "show/hide archived" button on the toolbar at the top of the respective lists. Archived items are shown in the list with a chevron highlight in the background. There is also an orange highlight message at the top of the item when it is open to remind users it is currently archived.
Archived fittings and doctrines can be bought back, or de-archived, by clicking the "de-archive" button on the item toolbar or the up-stop arrow next to the item in the list.
Please note that archived doctrines and fittings are hidden by default but are still accessible to members if they toggle the filter and also still count towards the total number allowed for your group.
